We are very excited to be in the middle of planning our transition for our Year 6 into Year 7 this year.

Transferring from Primary to Secondary School  is an exciting time during which the children have the opportunity to do many new things, meet and make new friends, work with new teachers and explore some new subjects but it can also be an unsettling time for both children and their families.

In order to help you find the relevant information within our school website we have created this page as a central hub for all Year 6 to 7 transition information.

In the meantime, this is a video from current YPL for Year 7 Mrs Jackson:

Induction Process

Our transition programme aims to give our new Year 7 students and their families the opportunity to find out all about King's Academy Binfield and to begin to feel confident about joining us in September.

Contact with our new Year 7 children's current schools will be made during the summer term by Senior Staff.

For pupils who attend a Primary school where very few pupils are transferring to KAB, we hope to organise a visit  in May/June to enable them to meet other pupils who are in a similar position as well as having an opportunity to ask questions about KAB and how a secondary school works.

We are planning on holding Induction Days on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th July 2024 when Year 6 pupils who are joining us will spend the days meeting other Year 6 pupils from different schools as well as following a timetabled programme of lessons and activities. In the evening of Thursday 4th July, we will hold our Year 6 Parents’ Induction Evening at 5pm.

The resource below is a really useful guide to help support your child through their transition to secondary school.

We have also attached letters we have sent and useful information for you regarding uniform etc.
