Preparing Students for Their Futures
At King's Academy Binfield we are incredibly proud of the wide range of opportunities we provide to help students explore their futures. Our careers programme is designed to inspire ambition, develop employability skills and ensure every student understands the many pathways available to them.
From Year 7 through to Sixth Form, students take part in a carefully planned programme of activities that help them discover their strengths, explore career possibilities and make informed decisions about their next steps.
Careers education is woven throughout our curriculum, PSHE programme and enrichment activities so that students regularly encounter employers, workplaces and real-world career pathways.
A High-Quality Careers Programme
Our careers programme is designed in line with the Gatsby Benchmarks, the national framework for best practice in careers education.
These benchmarks ensure that students receive a structured, progressive and meaningful careers programme throughout their time at school. Our approach focuses on:
-
Providing stable and well-planned careers education from Year 7 to Sixth Form
-
Linking learning in the classroom to real-world career opportunities
-
Giving students regular encounters with employers and workplaces
-
Ensuring access to personalised careers guidance from qualified advisers
-
Supporting students and parents to understand all progression pathways, including university, apprenticeships and technical education
This approach helps students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to succeed in their future careers.
Using Unifrog to Explore Careers
Students and parents have access to Unifrog, an online platform that helps young people explore their interests and research future pathways.
Through Unifrog students can:
-
Explore hundreds of career profiles
-
Research university, college and apprenticeship options
-
Track their skills and achievements
-
Build CVs and prepare applications
-
Access labour market information and career insights
Unifrog helps students make well-informed decisions about their futures and supports the careers learning they complete in school.
If you would like to create a unifrog account that is linked with your child's account, it is very straightforward. Please go to www.unifrog.org and click on the "parent/guardian create an account" option, before following the instructions and entering your details.

Supporting Parents and Carers
Parents and carers play a vital role in helping young people think about their futures. Conversations at home about interests, ambitions and opportunities can have a powerful impact on students’ confidence and decision-making.
To help families feel informed and supported, we provide regular opportunities for parents to engage with our careers programme. These include information evenings, webinars, options events and post-16 guidance sessions, where parents can learn more about the different pathways available to their children.
We also encourage parents to create a parent account on Unifrog, our online careers platform. This allows parents to explore the same information that students use in school and to support discussions at home about future pathways.
By signing up to Unifrog, parents can:
-
Explore university, apprenticeship and college options
-
Understand the range of career pathways available after school
-
Access up-to-date labour market information
-
Support their child with researching careers and progression routes
-
Learn more about application processes and key decision points
Working in partnership with parents ensures that every student receives consistent guidance and encouragement both in school and at home.
If you would like help setting up your parent account or accessing careers information, please contact our Careers Leader (careers.bi@kingsacademies.uk,) who will be happy to help.
