A Rich and Varied Careers Programme

Students experience careers education in many exciting ways throughout their time at school. These include:

Careers Fairs and Employer Encounters
Each year, students attend careers and further education fairs where they meet employers, universities, colleges and training providers. These events give students the chance to ask questions, explore industries and learn about the skills needed for different careers.

National Careers Week and National Apprenticeship Week
During these national events, students engage with industry speakers, webinars and workshops, helping them understand the breadth of opportunities available to them.

Workplace Experiences
Students take part in meaningful experiences of the workplace, including work experience placements, employer workshops and industry talks. These experiences help students build confidence, understand workplace expectations and develop key employability skills.

Enterprise and Skills Challenges
Students take part in enterprise activities and business challenges where they develop teamwork, creativity and problem-solving skills.

Careers Guidance and Interviews
Students receive guidance from qualified careers advisers at key points in their education, helping them reflect on their strengths and make informed decisions about subject choices, post-16 options and future pathways.

University and Further Education Engagement
Students have opportunities to visit universities, attend open days and explore higher education routes, as well as learning about apprenticeships, technical qualifications and vocational pathways.

Trips and Curriculum Links
Many departments provide careers-linked learning through trips, workshops and employer partnerships, allowing students to see how classroom learning connects to real careers.

Together, these opportunities ensure that students leave school with the knowledge, skills and confidence to pursue their ambitions.
