A Range of Employer Encounters

At King’s Academy Binfield, we place great importance on giving students regular opportunities to engage directly with employers. In line with Gatsby Benchmark 7, our careers programme ensures that students meet and learn from a wide range of employers throughout their time at the school. These encounters help students develop a clearer understanding of the workplace, learn about different career pathways and gain valuable insight into the skills and qualities employers are looking for.

Students take part in a variety of employer encounters each year. In Year 10, students experience professional mock interviews with visiting employers, helping them to build confidence and practise key employability skills. Our in-house Careers Fair also brings together a wide range of organisations, allowing students to speak directly with employers about different industries and opportunities. In addition, employer talks, workshops, trips and subject-specific events take place across all key stages, both in person and online. Through these experiences, students regularly meet representatives from organisations ranging from local businesses to global companies such as Oracle Corporation, Dell Technologies and Ernst & Young. This ensures that every student at KAB benefits from multiple meaningful employer encounters each year, helping them to broaden their horizons and better understand the many pathways available to them.
