Students are supported to make decisions and plan for their future across both Years 12 and 13. In both years, students receive support and information via the PSHE programme, with information about workplace policies, pay, and more. Opportunities for work experience and careers talks are regularly shared with students, with many students applying to, and completing these, in their own time. Students have secured placements in finance, languages, and business placements to name a few. Students meet with their tutors for academic coaching once per half term, as a minimum, and students are encouraged to share their future plans at this time to help in tailoring support.
In Year 12, students receive the following support:
-
1 to 1 meeting with our Careers Advisor, bespoke to their plans
-
An opportunity to undertake Work Experience at the end of the school year, with support provided to secure placements
-
Future Focus Day. This is a day solely dedicated to students’ next steps, with advice on careers and university given.
In Year 13, students receive the following support:
-
For students struggling with their next steps, students can continue to meet with our Careers Adviser for further support.
