Careers Guidance: Personal Support for Every Student
At [School Name], we are committed to providing personalised careers guidance to help every student make informed choices about their future. This is in line with Gatsby Benchmark 8, which highlights the importance of access to qualified careers advice for all students.
All our students have the opportunity to meet with our qualified careers advisor, Mr Tim Swithenbank, at key points in their education. These meetings ensure that every student receives tailored guidance suited to their individual interests, strengths, and aspirations.
-
Year 9: Students take part in a group meeting with Mr Swithenbank before selecting their GCSE options. This helps them understand the subjects that align with their future goals and make confident choices.
-
Key Stage 4: Students benefit from a 1:1 personal meeting before leaving school, ensuring they have a clear plan for their next steps—whether that’s further education, apprenticeships, or entering the workforce.
We believe that high-quality personal guidance is essential in helping students navigate their options and plan a pathway that suits their ambitions. By offering multiple points of contact with our careers advisor, we make sure every student is supported, informed, and empowered to make the decisions that are right for them.
We encourage parents and students to reach out if they would like to seek support and should get in touch by emailing careers.bi@kingsacademies.uk
