The 16–19 Bursary Fund at King’s Academy Binfield (KAB6) provides financial support to Sixth Form students who face financial barriers to their education. The funding is provided by the government and allocated by the academy to help with the costs of learning.  Due to the small amount received, this is held centrally by the Director of Sixth Form and additional help can be requested via Mrs Jackson-Foot.

What Does the Bursary Cover?

The fund is meant to help with direct educational costs, including:

  • Resources, textbooks, and study materials

  • UCAS applications, university open days, and interview travel

  • Educational visits and enrichment activities

How Much Support Can You Get?

The amount of financial support depends on your specific needs, your household income, and how many dependent siblings under 18 live with you. Students who are in care, care leavers, or receiving specific direct benefits themselves may be eligible for higher amounts of specialised support if they have distinct financial needs.

How to Apply

  1. Online Application: Applications are submitted in mid September and the Director of Sixth form will share the details with you.

  2. Household Income Assessment: You must complete a Household Income Assessment and Declaration Form for each adult you live with who financially supports you.

  3. Supporting Evidence: You will need to upload or hand in financial evidence (such as P60s, benefit letters, or universal credit statements).
