At King’s Academy Binfield, each of our students and our members of staff are divided into one of four houses: Churchill (yellow), Curie (red), Mandela (blue) and Nightingale (green).
The names for the houses were chosen by our first students and were selected to represent the DARE habits that we aim to develop in all of our students:
-
Determination
-
Aspiration
-
Respect
-
Enthusiasm
From day-to-day school activities to house competitions, sporting events and charity fundraisers; students and staff work together to earn DARE points. DARE points are tallied and added to the totals for each house, with weekly total updates communicated within the school. At the end of the academic year and with the culmination of Sports Day, a DARE Champion house is named and awarded the school trophy - which is displayed in the school’s reception area for all to see.
The house system is co-ordinated by Mr Rodgers and supported by the Head Students as house captains.
Our DARE point system for achievement can be found here.
